I am planning a January wedding any reception decoration ideas?

February 18, 2010 - 12:11 pm 8 Comments

This is a second wedding for both of us. We are a laid-back couple that will be having a traditional small wedding with family then a bigger reception with family and friends. We are from Indiana if that helps. We will be serving a buffet dinner. We really haven’t settled on colors yet.

Depending on where you live, January is a winter month for us here in new york. so I would go with soft blues and whites. i can’t help you cuz i don;t know your colors location, likes and dislikes. more details please.

I am planning a wedding reception for 50 guests on a budget in escondido, CA. catering preferred

February 14, 2010 - 1:41 pm 1 Comment

serving and cleanup is a must. would like a nice dinner. is it possible to keep the cost under $1500.00? i am new to the area, catering referrals are appreciated!
One more question, I’ve been quoted $700.00 to marry at a church and hold the reception in their hall. what is the average charge for chapel and reception hall as a nonmember?

well that sounds about right for the use of the church, as far as the catering goes it all depends on what kind of food you are having and catering for mine was $990 but im in florida not ca, but i also find that its so much eaiser and cheaper to have a family member or friend help set up and clean up and cook!!

Wedding reception?

February 11, 2010 - 7:33 pm 9 Comments

I am planning my wedding. My boyfirend and I are on a very tight budget. We want to have a nice inexpensive wedding. I found a place that only charges $600 for the hall and it includes table and chairs , kitchen and there own security, and allows me to have beer and liquor and bring my own food. My in laws are planning to make the food themselves so it works out great. The onlly thing is that I have to end the reception at 10:30. I come from a very traditional Mexican family were we are used to having the party until 12, but this sounds like a good plan to me. What do you folks think? I plan to start the reception and 4pm. The ceremony will me at about 11am

10:30 sounds long enough for me. I couldn’t party for 12 hours. If you start at 11am, people need to arrive about 10:30, then you plan to have therm there for 12 hours? More than enough

Planning a july 09 wedding. Reception hall older knights of columbus hall with wood panel walls. Nice place ?

February 9, 2010 - 8:47 am 3 Comments

but I need ideas on how to dress it up and have my wedding the focal point and not the hall. Iam from Louisiana and thought of a Mardi Gras theme. Any suggestions?
We are getting married in South East TX where my fiance is from. Weather is very unpredictable in the summer to do an outdoor wedding. Any advice?

People should not be ripping of the K of C halls. There is nothing wrong with them. They have good food and are inexpensive. Who is looking at the walls anyway?? I had my parents 25 anniversary at one that looked like what you are describing. Buy decorations at the party stores and just decorate like the wood paneling isn’t there. Believe me, people saw my decor–not the walls!!!!
