Wedding Planning for the Worst Case Scenario

December 2, 2009 - 9:11 am 2 Comments

nuptialstv.com
If you are having a wedding during a time of the year with unpredictable weather, make sure you plan ahead for the worst case scenario. Rent a tent for your wedding site if you are having an outdoor wedding, or arrange to have a backup location for the ceremony or reception at a different, indoor site. And make sure your guests are informed about the possibility of a backup site… it is appropriate, and will be appreciated, to include in case of bad weather information on your invitations, and some couples even include a seperate rain card enclosed in their invitation packet which gives detailed information and instructions to your wedding guests for what to do if it starts to rain or snow. And don’t stress out about it… many people consider rain on a wedding day a good omen for the marriage, so just be optimistic and think of it as good luck if it happens.

Tips On Planning The Big Day! – Nuptialstv.com

November 13, 2009 - 4:08 am 1 Comment

Welcome brides, grooms, and future wedding guests I’m Harmonie Krieger your host for nuptialstv.com your video guide to planning your wedding and beyond. On this edition of Nuptialstv we will be covering tips on planning the big day.

Planning a wedding is like setting up dominoes, each decision helps you make another one. The first domino is the question, the second domino is the type of ceremony and the third domino is choosing the venue and it continues on from there.

So the question has been popped, now unto the type and location of the ceremony. Most people know the type of wedding they would like to have, but when you add another person’s dreams, aspirations and religious feelings it will require some compromise. The couple is the most important part of planning a wedding and whether it’s the parents of the bride or the groom or a wedding planner, the wishes of the couple have to be taken into account. This is especially true of the type of ceremony that the couple decides on.

Determining whether the wedding will be a religious, civil or other type of ceremony will play a part in determining the venue. Your job or the job of your wedding planner will be to contact the venue and verify all information in regards to booking it for the day in question. At bare minimum you will need confirmation on the following items so prepare a checklist:

* Contact Person?

* Location of Utilities?

* In-house staff?

* Clean-up responsibility? Yours? Theirs?

* Parking?

* Entrance?

* Dressing Room?

* Fees?

* Rehearsal availability?

* Piano? Organ?

* Rules about Photography (specifically in Churches)

You will want to confirm a booking of the venue at least three to four months ahead of time. In many cases, it’s better to settle on the venue first because much of the rest of the planning will center on this location.

The Role Of The Wedding Planner – Nuptialstv.com

October 10, 2009 - 4:34 am 2 Comments

Welcome brides, grooms, and future wedding guests I’m Harmonie Krieger your host for nuptialstv.com your video guide to planning your wedding and beyond. On this edition of Nuptialstv we will be covering the role of the wedding planner.

Traditionally, wedding planners were friends or family members who took on the burden of managing your wedding details. Once upon a time, the bride’s parents were in charge of paying for and coordinating the wedding. The bride’s mother was and often still is the de facto wedding planner. However, modern wedding planning is a direct result of the expanding family living miles apart from their immediate family.

When engaged couples live so far away from their immediate families, the benefits of hiring a professional to handle the details and coordinate their wedding can save you time, money as well as providing you with stress relief in the months, weeks and days leading up to the big event.

When you hire a wedding planner, you will be hiring an economic advisor, mediator, organizer and part time psychiatrist. The wedding planner will hold hands, coax vendors, organize the decorators, offer advice, and negotiate contracts.

The wedding planner will carry the extra bobby pins, hairspray and even extra pairs of panty hose. He or she will provide mental, emotional, and physical support to the bride in a variety of ways.
