how many ladies out there or gents, would get a wedding planner to plan your wedding?

I am just interested into how many would get a wedding planner, i am considering doing a course in wedding planning and event planning, well not considering going to be doing, and just want to know what your opinions on wedding planners etc!!! thanks guys!!

I had a pretty generous budget and even though I splurged on some aspects of our wedding, I never would have hired a wedding planner. I’m very particular about things and I wouldn’t want to be limited to the items/vendors/ideas the planner would suggest. Besides, I loved doing the legwork. I had all of our major vendors, as well as my dress, picked out within 4 months of being engaged.

Wedding planner = waste of money, especially if your wedding is local. The only time a wedding planner might be necessary is if the couple is doing a destination wedding and they’re not familiar with the area.

I would get a wedding planner. Coz i know they have a list of the most important things to do and suggestions. And it is once in a lifetime thing, why for it not to be perfect.

Honestly, if you don’t have a lot of help from family or friends I’d say get one. Do it Yourself weddings are great and rewarding but if you’re doing all by yourself it becomes too much. There are some great wedding planners out there who aren’t super expensive. I’d say meet with a few and see how you feel. Perhaps after meeting with one you’ll realize you don’t need one or that you do.

If I could afford a wedding planner I would def hire one to cut down on the stress of wedding planning. If you can afford one go for it. If not then make sure to give yourself plenty of time so you can do it all yourself. Im doing it all myself and I gave myself over a year to plan so I don’t feel overwhelmed.

i would just plan my own wedding. i personally think it would be a waste of money to hire someone to plan your wedding.
but however some people really like the idea of a wedding planner and there is probably good money in it too. :)

I have gone back and forth between wanting one and not wanting one. My fiance and I are planning out wedding from 3,000 miles away. Luckily, my parents still live where we’re planning on getting married (my hometown), so they’re doing a lot of the leg work. I kinda wanted a planner to give them a hand since they both work full time.

I think it depends on the area you would be servicing. For example, I live in a fairly small community and will be able to handle most if not all of the wedding arrangements on my own. However, if I were in a larger metropolitan I would certainly consider hiring an event planner to help me with the negotiating, decision making and budget planning as well as the overall execution of the event itself.

I could afford it, but didnt want a wedding planner. Im a control freak and I enjoy planning parties, I didnt want anyone to help me with it. I knew exactly what I wanted, and that is what I accomplished. I wouldnt have it any other way.
