Planning a july 09 wedding. Reception hall older knights of columbus hall with wood panel walls. Nice place ?

but I need ideas on how to dress it up and have my wedding the focal point and not the hall. Iam from Louisiana and thought of a Mardi Gras theme. Any suggestions?
We are getting married in South East TX where my fiance is from. Weather is very unpredictable in the summer to do an outdoor wedding. Any advice?

People should not be ripping of the K of C halls. There is nothing wrong with them. They have good food and are inexpensive. Who is looking at the walls anyway?? I had my parents 25 anniversary at one that looked like what you are describing. Buy decorations at the party stores and just decorate like the wood paneling isn’t there. Believe me, people saw my decor–not the walls!!!!

Honestly, if you live in Louisiana, where it is warm and nice outside. Why don’t you have a garden wedding? It would be a lot nicer than a wood panel walled Knights of Columbus (ugh, could it get any worse than that?)

Why not look at a different venue, you can rent tents and have it out side… I went to a wedding at a nights of columbs hall one time, it was my cousin and she was 17 and pregnant, and the place was so tacky, there are other ways you can do it and make it nicer.
